New Music: Body/Lifted
Body & Lifted are two tracks I made last year that get great reactions in my sets and represent the “cinematic club music” sound I’m pioneering. I’ve enjoyed listening to them and playing these out in most of my sets since last summer, and I’m excited to finally share them with you.
For Body, I sampled Hindu raggas performed on tablas and sitar that I found on an old vinyl record from the 1950’s as well as the female narrator educating Western listeners about traditional Indian music and culture.
Lifted came together quickly and organically, thanks to a few melodic samples I found that seamlessly fit together. This one works really well on the dance floor, and has a very fun outro to mix out of in sets. I hope you enjoy the journey.
New Music: Old Ways (DnB VIP)
This heater is for the adrenaline junkies! It’s the second to last of the Relics Remixes and might go harder than any other track I’ve produced. It’s crazy to hear the progression in my mix & mastering skills compared to the original which was released last year and included as the 2nd track on this single.
Miami is a Fever Dream (MMW Quick Recap)
Last week I attended my first Miami Music Week and despite 2 days of unseasonably heavy rain and flooding, it was a very fun and productive experience. Forget Ultra, Space, E11even, or LIV—MMW is all about the smaller events and networking opportunities (if you can score an invite). Some favorite spots I checked out include Factory Town, Jolene, The Delilah, and Paraiso. I was pleasantly surprised to meet so many other Yanks down there who I’m excited to see more of back here in Brooklyn.
My reason for going is that I’ve been working with Senaerya, a talented new artist/DJ you may be familiar with if you follow my Instagram stories, co-producing, mixing, and mastering her debut EP. Senaerya and 4 others were hand-picked by rising star LP Giobbi and Femme House for an artist fellowship where they got to meet one-on-one with some badass women in the music industry, including WME agents, label A&Rs, and a Spotify Rep. Check out Senaerya’s demos and DJ mixes on her Soundcloud and be sure to hit follow—With any luck, someday you’ll tell people you were a fan before she became famous ;)
